Prysmian has been honored with the prestigious Transatlantic Award 2025 in recognition of its recent €245 million investment designed to expand production capacity at its Encore Wire facility in Texas. The accolade was conferred by the American Chamber of Commerce in Italy (AmCham Italy) during a formal Gala Dinner.
Francesco Gori, Chairman of Prysmian, accepted the award, highlighting the company’s deep ties to the American market.
“Receiving this award from the American Chamber of Commerce is truly an honor; it marks the second such recognition we have been granted within just a few years,” Gori stated. “Our leadership is largely driven by our presence in the United States, where Prysmian has completed three strategic acquisitions in recent years: General Cable, Encore Wire, and, more recently, Channell.”
Pointing to a robust market environment, Gori elaborated on the company’s outlook:
“All of this has been made possible thanks to a constantly growing market that embraces innovation and enables us to look to the future with optimism. We will continue to invest in the United States, which currently represents nearly half of our revenues, along with one-third of our approximately 33,000 employees worldwide and one-third of our shareholders. We, therefore, look to America with great confidence.”
The award follows the acquisition of Encore Wire, finalized in July 2024 for €3.9 billion, a move that underscores Prysmian’s strategy to fortify its foothold in the U.S. sector. This operation is viewed as a pivotal step in modernizing U.S. energy infrastructure, directly supporting the surging demand from data centers and other key drivers of electrification, such as industrial reshoring.
